We are losing sight of civility in government and politics. Debate and dialogue is taking a back seat to the politics of destruction and anger and control. Dogma has replaced thoughtful discussion between people of differing views.

As We Begin to End

As we begin to end I would like to send you a farewell

I hope life treats you fair

well, while you're on the road you should listen to Take Care

You got a brand new used car

I know you're not sure where you're headed

but I'm sure you'll go far

Next time we speak I pray you say you're doing well

So please share all your adventures and stories

but only if you're willing to tell

I want to hear about your greatest climbs

And even the times you fell

I wont ask where you are or where you're gonna be

Cause as far as I can see

You tend to find joy

when you're far away

from me.

And that's hard for me

We were a fire burning and bright

but I guess a fire is something you shouldn't hold tight

Eventually the warmth will burn and the burn will scar

Like the one on my soul

when I saw you drive away

In your brand new

used car.
